A Message from the Secretary

In the dark days of Winter, Harting Festivities day seems a long way away but planning has started for May 29th 2006. The Committee members that stood were re-elected at the AGM and the new Committee is as follows:

Maggie Barker - Chair
Tria Bleach - Secretary
Joyce Whately - Treasurer
Jacquie Wood & Sally Bull - Press & Publicity

The Committee is keen for helpers - anyone who does not want to be on the Committee but would like to help organise a 'little bit' would be most welcome. We are looking for new ideas for games for the street and there is also a request for a new WebMaster to carry on the wonderful website. So anyone who has been hiding and has some good ideas or if you are new to the village please get in touch. More on that in the New Year but if anyone wants to volunteer even to lend a small hand please get in touch now.

Also, groups or projects in Harting can apply in writing to the Secretary for funding for capital projects before the end of December. Call 826709 for more details. Pictures, the history and a record of the day in May 2005 can be seen on the website at www.hartingfestivities.org.uk

Harting Festivities AGM (11th October)
Thank you to those members of the village who turned out. The highs and lows of the day were discussed and everyone congratulated and thanked - the Committee, stall holders, residents and villagers for all their hard work. The Committee especially wanted to thank those people who offered help even up to the last minute. Money had been donated this year to a wide variety of projects around the village.

The present Committee - excepting Bronwen Tickner - stood again and were voted in. The Committee thanked Bronwen for all her hard work. She has offered to help again this year although not being a formal Committee member. The Committee are keen to receive bids for capital village projects or schemes preferably before Christmas.

Here is to Harting Festivities 2006. Put Monday May 29th 2006 in your new diary. Happy Christmas!

Tria 826709 (Secretary)
