HAVE FUN !!

Come along and join the Harting celebrations on Bank Holiday Monday May 28th 2007. It promises to be a day packed full of fun, colour and family entertainment. In tribute to its traditional roots, Harting Festivities this year will be celebrating the best of the Harting communities.

*     Garden in a box Competition

Try your hand at Ground Force. Design and build your own miniature garden to fit into a container. Any container would do, as long as it can be carried, but as a guide a seed tray is ideal. Gardens can be in any style or any theme from a modern style to the more traditional.

Prizes will be awarded for the best garden for 0 to 5, 6 to 10, 11 to 15.

Gardens will be judged by TV celebrity garden designer Ann-Marie Powell and displayed in the church. Bring your garden into the Church in time for judging at 11.30am.

*     Pavement drawing competition

For all budding artists!

As in previous years this competition is being run by Harting School.

The theme of the drawings is ‘FLOWERS IN THE GARDEN’.  Just come along on the day and colour in the pavements.  These drawing will be judged at 2.15pm by our sponsors Humberts.

*     Parade to follow the Old Club - Wheelbarrows and Gnomes!

Open to everyone. Spruce up your wheelbarrow (any size - even a toy one).   Decorate them in any way you please..... it could be a car, a plane, a ship, even a castle; or make it look as attractive as possible (cement or mud may be overlooked!).

Decorate a garden gnome or, better still, why not come as a garden gnome - dress your children up as gnomes and carry them in the barrow! Prizes will be awarded for the best barrows and the best dressed gnomes. To be judged by our sponsors Alitex.

Assemble at the Entertainments area (in front of the Church) by 11.55am for the Parade. Judging will take place immediately afterwards

*     Flower arrangements in the Parish Church

Come and see the excellent display of flowers in the Parish Church of St Mary and St Gabriel, 'the Cathedral of the South Downs'. This year’s theme is ‘hobbies’

*     Harting Mile Fun Run

The Harting fun run through the South Gardens  is open to everyone under the age of 15, there will be two groups -  under 10 and 11 to 15.  Please come along and join in.

Assemble at the Church Gate for the start at 12.45pm. Prizes will be awarded.
