Harting
Festivities Monday 31st May 2010
Amongst this year’s events and attractions will be
pony rides, inflatables and games, strolling jazz musicians, a story
teller and a return of the Knock Hundred Shuttles Morris dancers .
As always there will be a variety of craft stalls,
the book and bottle stalls, BBQ, teas and refreshments, this year we
also have a blacksmith with his forge and traditional woodcraft
demonstrations.
Our fancy dress theme is recycling, an outfit or
just a hat made out of recycled materials. Entries open to all ages,
children and adults! This year the fun run will also have categories
ranging from under 5 to adult.
Alongside the dog agility display will be the
extremely popular dog show, keep an eye out for entry details that will
be displayed around the village soon.
“Grand Finale”
As
well as our traditional raffle draw, we will also have members of the
Mid Hants Balloon Club present who will be selling raffle tickets to win
balloon rides in the mass launch of about eleven balloons that will take
place at about 6.00pm that evening, weather permitting, from the
Memorial playing fields. As they are a charity, all money raised
on this raffle will be split equally between Harting Festivities and the
Hampshire Air Ambulance. So, if you’ve always fancied a hot air balloon
ride over our village and the surrounding countryside, this is your big
chance!
A
full programme and entry details to the various competitions will be
available in early May.
